Never Leave a Singing Lesson Without Clarity on This

Does this situation sound familiar?

You’re introduced to techniques in a lesson and you notice a positive difference when you’re there, but when you get back home you’re then not sure if you’re doing it right.

You begin to doubt yourself, worry that you’re doing it wrong and could possibly be embedding more “bad habits” or (at worst) causing damage.

I want to make sure you’re supported in NOT going down that spiral.

The most valuable thing a singing coach can do is teach YOU to discern between the new way and your old habits.

So that YOU catch it in the moment when you’re practicing.

You know exactly what it is linked to and therefore YOU have the confidence to know how to pivot, how to correct it .

THIS is what you never want to leave a lesson without.

Those questions again are:

❓How do they FEEL different? What are the SENSATIONS you feel when you default to my old habits that can act as an alert?

❓How do they SOUND different? Are there any sounds you’re aware of when you go back to old habits that aren’t present when you do it in the new way?

❓ Is there anything you can SEE as different when you sing?

❓ Do you have to change the way you THINK about creating the sound and what phrases or cues help you shift to the new way?

❓And if you’re a more kinaesthetic learner, are there any movements that support with this?

I’d love for you to share your reflections below.
