AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR ANXIETY AROUND WHAT might FLY OUT OF THEIR MOUTH ON STAGE.

ESPECIALLY NOT YOU.

You want to stand on stage with the confidence (not the blood alcohol level) of a slightly-more-humble-than-usual rock god.

To feel that adrenalin rush as excitement rather than need-to-go-to-the-bathroom-a-hundred-times terror.

To be almost limitless in what you can teach your voice to do, express and create.

And above all, actually enjoy the experience of singing again.

You’ve put in the work.

Maybe you've had more singing lessons than you can shake a stick at.

Perhaps your eyes are red and bleary from watching ALL the singing tutorials YouTube has to offer.

Maybe you've invested multiple piggy banks worth of moolah.

And yet…

  • That same note trips you up every time.

  • You cringe when the breathiness muddies that consistent and full tone you're after.

  • Your face burns up and your heart races when your throat tightens on higher notes.

  • And you can’t simply let go and express yourself because you’re worried about what might fall out.

I get it. I've been where you are and it's tough.

I remember the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when I was belting out a song and my throat started to hurt.

The anxiety creeping in when we got to the third set in our gig. Was my voice going to hold out?

Wondering why my chest voice sounded so great and yet my mix was so unsteady.

Plus my head voice sounded so damn classical.

Does this ring any bells for you too?

IF YOU’VE EVER THOUGHT “MAYBE MY VOICE JUST CAN’T DO THAT. I DON’T HAVE THE TALENT”…

…PLEASE PARK THAT POISONOUS THOUGHT AND KEEP READING.

99.9% of us aren’t born with pipes like Freddie or Whitney.

Ben Platt and Sierra Boggess didn’t just pop out with those voices.

But in order to build our best voice we DO need to learn

WHAT EXACTLY to practice

and HOW in a way that clicks.

turqouise.jpg

THIS IS THE REASON I CREATED PIMP YOUR VOICE

  • To show singers how to teach their voice new tricks so they could rely on it.

  • To understand exactly how to add more warmth or more brightness to their tone.

  • To unleash power without their throat squeezing or losing that juicy resonance.

  • To be able to sing a 3 hour set without worrying that their voice would disappear at the end (or mid way through).

learn to sing class.jpg

It’s not that you’re stupid, that your voice can’t do it or that you can’t “get it”.

It’s that the WAY YOU’VE BEEN SHOWN hasn’t been clear enough.

If you’re anything like my younger self, you’ll want to yell “Enough with the vague secrecy and the confusing singing jargon!” from the rooftops!

The best teaching should…

  • give you the specific exercises you need to move the needle

  • explain exactly how these should feel and what your focus need to be on

  • help you understand what could be getting in the way of ease, resonance or power

  • empower you to problem solve with a whole suitcase of tools and knowledge so you can become your own best teacher.

I created the technique course I always wished I’d had access to

One that is designed to give you…

Lightbulb moments and exciting results without making you feel like a moron.

Freedom of choice and options rather than rail-roading you into a style or tone colour you don’t like.

The habits you’ve always wanted but taught in a way that doesn't yank all the fun and expression out of singing.

I started the course having had no formal training with a thin reedy voice and would only sing as part of a group. I ended up much more powerful and confident and not afraid to sing on my own - I even took part in the masterclass at the end.

Kim provides a huge array of tools and exercises to use, to be able to work on any song and improve the way you sing it. Kim is brilliant, she makes everything easy and very clear, you just have to trust her and follow her instructions and really apply yourself and one day you suddenly notice your voice has changed - which then makes you feel more confident.

I no longer lose my speaking voice after a performance (less tension) and I am so much more relaxed on stage (confident in my more reliable voice) that I enjoy it twice as much. Amazing, really worthwhile and I will definitely keep going back into the course for help as and when I need it.

I’ve had so many eureka moments throughout the Pimp Your Voice course.
How connected and meticulous the lessons are blew my mind and it just proved how much thought and care Kim has put into her course.

Kim’s course offers a great combination of singing technique and how to bring more focus, joy and emotion into your singing.

There is a lot of material, probably enough for years. Thanks to her course I now have a good roadmap of what to work on for the next couple of months.

Oh, and did I mention that Kim is super supportive and lovely and is really great at explaining how technique should feel?

I want you to be able to make mistakes in your practice sessions without it devastating you.

To feel empowered and curious instead because you know the sound you want is just a tweak or exercise away.

To really hear and feel the progress you’re making in the time you do have to practice.

So that you can get up at karaoke, open mic, in an audition, on stage or in your own living room - and LET GO.

To maybe still feel a little nervous but know deep down that you can trust your voice.

That it’ll allow you to express and enjoy yourself without over-thinking and wrestling to control it.

wouldn’t that be all kinds of delicious and incredible?

Kim’s program has helped me get in touch with the elements of singing that I had brushed aside. I was trying too hard to get better which was in fact detrimental to my progress.

SPECIFIC THINGS WE'LL COVER INCLUDE:

  • Eliminating tension in your body (because that guy is stealing all that resonance you’re dreaming of)

  • Smoothing out that gear shift between your chest voice and your head voice that makes you cringe

  • The best free tools on the market to make sure you’re letting your breath do all the heavy lifting

  • How to get more volume and power without pushing or needing a nap

  • How to create practice sessions that give you results (not just singing that song over and over without making any progress on the hard bits)

  • What tiny little adjustments inside and outside your mouth will change about your sound

  • How to work on your thoughts and emotions so that performance anxiety or the voice that tells you "you're not good enough" doesn't derail you mid-performance

  • The ways you can tweak your tone for different styles/settings while keeping your unique sound.

Please note that this is a contemporary singing course - not classical.

All of this is delivered with love via 3 months of

  • downloadable video tutorials

  • audio vocal exercises

  • live masterclasses and

  • worksheets to help you practice the right stuff

(oh and don't forget that you can check in and ask questions throughout to make sure you're on the right track).

PLUS my 30 Days to Better Breath Support videos AND my Not Your Average Vocal Exercises are included with this course.

Cool huh?

WHO AM I TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH THIS WONDERLAND?

Kimberley Smith, vocal coach at your service.

I've been singing for over 20 years and have had training in classical, musical theatre and contemporary music.

Everything I teach came out of the frustration I felt when I was learning. My mission is to constantly find better and more practical ways to help singers understand how to get the best out of their voices.

I'm big on talking about what technique feels like and how you feel when you are making music, because if you lose your passion and joy for it - what's the point?

WANT even MORE FEEDBACK FROM SINGERS WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT?

The Pimp Your Voice course was everything I could have wanted.
All questions were answered and I found myself clearing my head and finding singing easier than ever!

Despite my precious insecurities, frustrations, and fear that my neighbors could hear me (haha), I looked forward to doing this class every day.
Pimp Your Voice completely restored all my love for singing.

FAQ

When does it start and finish?

We’ll get you all set up and comfortable right from the get go but the course itself will kick off on Monday 9 September.

One of the biggest benefits to this course is that you have access to the course as long as it’s still running (which hopefully is years).

The live masterclasses will finish up by the end of 2020 but you’ll be able to revisit all the other content whenever you desire.

AND it’s always being updated as new techniques, tools and vocal science are being discovered so it’s the gift that keeps on giving!

How can you learn singing in an online course? Isn't it different from person to person?

Yes, but the knowledge everyone needs about their voice is the same.

The course is based on the techniques and tools I use to teach all my students and have been pieced together in the most logical order.

It’s always wonderful to check in with a coach one on one but I want you to feel like you’re able to troubleshoot a lot of it before seeing a coach.

There are also options for personalised feedback via the masterclass sessions to help with anything you find particularly challenging and would like to work more on.

How will you know if you’re doing it right?

Everything is clearly explained and demonstrated in videos and audio downloads so you can't go wrong.

But just to put your heart at rest, we also have 3 live masterclasses during the 12 weeks which you can choose to volunteer for or watch other singers get coached on what we’re working on in the course.

You also have access to your own personal cheerleader and vocal coach (ME) to ask questions via the course comments section and email whenever you need a pep talk/clarification.

What if you sign up and don't find it useful?

I am so confident that you will find this program useful that I have a refund guarantee backing it up.

If by the end of Week 2, you're not excited for what’s to come and noticing differences in the way your voice feels and sounds you can get a full refund.

You just need to submit recordings of at least 6 practice sessions and the filled out worksheets so I can make sure you've been following along (that's how you get the progress my dear)!

What if you’re too busy and can't keep up with the program week to week?

I know life gets in the way of things and things we need to do take precedence over things we might want to do.

That's why you have access to the program as long as it's running so you can revisit any content whenever you like. Also, every video and audio file is available to download.

Why is each month released separately?

One of the issues I see (particularly with advanced vocalists) is that we tend to skip over things too quickly. This way you will spend a week really focusing on each piece of the puzzle so that we build your voice properly from the get go.

Of course on request most of the time I can open up other parts of the course for you, I’m not a dictator!

So if you want to wave goodbye to the old habits holding you back and are ready to build technique that means you really own each performance - let's do this.
